time for cool heads (The Age 04.04.06)

baying hounds signal that it’s time for cool heads
an emergency call for an emergency service
‘millionaire’ on hold
crows conquer magpies
yudhoyono questions future ties
runners step up rivalry
thousands in grants to company
what price our children?
words in a gaudy embrace
two people, backs to the wall
melting a mute penguin’s heart

ditch your landline (The Australian 04.04.06)

ditch your landline
far from jaded
queen at 80, relaxed and thoughtful
fast, furious and futile
heir’s best mate
witness to suffering
back with a splash
swimmer tells of spiking
tycoon off sewing
millions wasted as waiting list grows
too high for much too long
